Part Picture Of Be1 Gearboxthingy Requested

Recommended Posts

I want to change my Be3 Box with a Be1 box and struggle to find something, that must be a kind of spring.

It secures a little Bolt (part 2 on second pic - fork link) between the clutch fork (no.10 on first) and the return lever(6).

I can´t make it out on the parts catalogue.

Any pictures of nicely assambled be1 gearboxes are very welcome.

Further - which of both is the be1 clutchcable with the rubbergromet thingy on the Brakeservo end, rather than the plasticplug? Is it the early or the later type?

thank you.

I know the spring you mean and its nowhere to be seen under the 205 listings.

However, search under 309+405 and you find exactly the same picture as the 2nd one above, with one minor detail a spring!!

That was a tough one indeed.

The only way to find out was to type "spring" into the servicebox search-box and then look for hits with "BE1 gearbox".

The cable itself might be a task as well.

My BE1 cable snapped last year and it took the Peugeot dealer three attempts to come up with the right part.

I´ll look up the receipts to see what number it was in the end.

Neither of my 205s, both with BE1 gearboxes, have had a spring there. I have sometimes wondered what there is to stop the little rod between bellcrank and release fork falling out and assumed it was meant to be kept there by faith alone, which isn't very reliable.

I've used a wheel-cylinder rubber boot which fits over the bellcrank end and holds the little rod, which has worked for years so far, but now I wonder if both cars originally had springs to hold the rod in. Next time I'm at the local dealer I'll give them the part number and see what happens.

i'm sure this is the correct answer,

there is no spring fitted there. item 2 is the 'fork link'. it is just a rod. it is held in place by the tension of the clutch cable

part number 2120.46

the only place where ther is a little spring is item 8 in 2nd pic.

both of 405 now.

Seems the spring belongs to the clutchcable somehow.

But in the lower pic, there is a No.3 "Fork Ball Joint" - I can´t believe this is only held by tension.

thanks so far
