Phase 2 Ignition Amp On Phase 1 Ignition?

Can I fit a phase 2 ignition module to a phase 1 style ignition? I have two phase 1 modules but I'm suspecting them both of being faulty and I know my amp on my phase 2 is fine. Straight swap or do I need to change other parts like the coil?

Nope, the ignition amps are the same on all GTi's - Phase 2 amps work in Phase 1/1.5 cars and vice-versa just fine
