Thinking Of Engine Haul

Recommended Posts

justinv

So decided to finally do an engine overhaul and swap my 1.6 to a 1.9 from a 405 GTX. Thinking of not spend alot of cash on it so going for almost all the spares I have lying around and that I have been collecting in my garage.

What type of cam would do best?

Thinking of leaving a standard head with double alve springs as these I have, and don't know if i'll maybe find a set of tb's.

Thanks

surely for a budget road build, balancing is a bit overkill? Its still an 8v so its not really revving high!

last time i had my 8v rebuilt, i had those balanced too and the engine revs much much more easier and happier (not higher). the other word, a much quicker throttle response.

i would say $$$$ in first place. if you can do it yourself, you can save the labour cost. and the "search" function can give you sooo many answers here.
