tony perks 1 Posted March 26, 2008 Hi all am building my new engine for the rally car : Based on 2l iron block i am going to 88 mm bore and 1.9 turbo d crank my question is how far can you safely grind the crank undersize ? What i want to do is use a set of steel xe vauxhall rods i have as i'm using xe forged pistons, so i want to have the crank offset ground to increase the stroke to get the biggest capacity i can, soif i gring down to say xe -.5 will it be ok as i should get about a 1.5-1.8mm increase in stroke, then also i wont need to take too much from the top of the block.
