casanova2007 0 Posted March 25, 2008 hi guys just lookin for a bit of help really, got hold of a 205 gti with an alloy mi16 in it running mi16 loom and standard injection. thing is it wont start and its also been stood unstarted for 2 months! it turns over, ive got a spark on all of the plugs, and the fuel pumps pumping fuel through the injector rail but. as you turn it over it seems like it wants to go but doesnt. the person i got it from said that oil was leaking into the cylindes from the valve stem seals, but its got new plugs in it and ive been trying to get it running for 4 hours but they still look brand new! nothing comes out of the exhaust when your trying to start it and now im lost!(used to an 8v on carbs lol) can somebody shed some light on the situation for me? cheers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
taylorspug 7 Posted March 25, 2008 Have you checked the injectors are actually firing? If you have spark and fuel at the rail id guess not, as there is no reason it shouldnt go provided everything is plugged in. Check the connections to the ECU temp sender aswell (and the sender itself), as ive found these failing can cause MIs to not want to start in certain conditions.
