Leda Spring Spec's

Recommended Posts

Chris H

I've got a pair of Leda coilovers on my 205 rally car, on the short test drive it felt very hard and now i've checked the spring rates they are 300 lb/in.

I'm thinking of going to 200 lb/in as a starting place for Tarmac stages...does any one have any thoughts on this.

As i havent taken the springs off the car....can anyone tell me what the internal diameter of the springs are so i can order some new ones.....are they 2 1/4 in 60mm or similar.

If anyone is iterested in swaping my springs for some softer ones i'd be interested.

depending on how old they are they will be either Eibach springs or the earlier H&R springs.

Wouldnt 200lb be too soft?

The springs are likely 2.5" ID but measure to make sure!

I thought PTS tarmac rates were 275lb's/inch or something like that?? 225 for gravel.

If they're the Leda too much adjustment to choose from jobs they're like to be 2.5" ID jobs, I ordered from needforspeed I think were the cheapest place, springs a spring really, long as the rates what is says it is.

Or Gaz will sell springs pretty cheap from memory, just got 6.5" 300lbs jobs with mine.

Whats on the rear beam??

I found 270lb fronts to be quite pleasant on the road. Damper settings were set to softest by Leda when the car was corner weighted by them

Cheers for the info...i best check on the diameter just to make sure.

I have been using 140lb springs on sprintlines up till now but think that 200lb will be a good step.....remeber a bumpy tarmac stage is a whole different world from a smooth A road or circuit.

I'm looking for a set up to give me good traction and low speed handling. I'm planning on running a 309 front arb, 309 rear beam with 23mm TB's and prob a std 309 arb.
