Question About Adding Power Steering To My Cti

Recommended Posts

smokey

Hiya guys

Well i went out today to get some new wheels and ended up getting a power steering rack, pump and pulley wheel :):o

Because i'm putting a Mi16 engine into the CTI it has to me set up like a Mi16. I know the pump needs to fix to the gearbox and the pulley wheel goes onto the outlet cam.

But I was wondering where do i mount the reservoir bottle?

Also the high pressure tubing needs to come from a Diesel 205? If i can't get hold of that does anyone know where else i can get the tubing?

Thanks

if you cant get it from a diesel then the original piping from a 405mi16 will do also.

You can have pipes made up by someone like pirtek but they are expensive (£60/pipe) when i got a quote

heres how wher i mounted mine

I used the existing high pressure metal/rubber combination from the 1.9 8v, got the local pirtek guys to cut and reduce the metal portion of the pipe to fit my Mi conversion for £5!

No that where it fits for the 8v engines.

On 16v engines its mounted onto the gearbox and run from the exhaust cam.

I have this in the garage , saved from my 205 turbo diesel if it's any use.
