Sunroof Handle Seals

Recommended Posts

McDude

Like the title says - the fine Easter weather is testing my waterproofing out and I have discovered that the little rubber chaps where the handle meets the glass are not doing their job.

Anyone got any? Know where I could get some?

Peugeot

I checked the part numbers for a friend earlier this week as it happens.

694875 is the seal, 26p each!

what you'll probably find is that the screw is stuck in the insert though (water runs down the screw on its path to your lap...)

842419 is the insert which is the most expensive bit at £4.38

691282 is the small bolt, 58p and the washer for the bolt is 694652 3p

hope that helps :)

Are these the same ones Just GTIs used to sell on EBay? I think that's where my leak is coming from.

im gonna bump this topic, as ive found it in the search.

right basically, i have a similar problem. i picked up my 1988 phase 1 gti last monday and the woner did mention under heavy rain the sunroof leaked a little.

now my problem is the following. im understanding the 2 rubber stop thingys which go on the top of the sun roof. the right one of the two is missing, so under heavy rain, like today in sc*nthorpe, it leaked through the rusted screw and dripped near the handbrake.

my original plan of using a little silicone glue to block it failed miserably, and my next ploy was to use a slight piece of plastic plate with some silicone sealent to block off both rubbers.

having read through this thread, it seems the parts are available from a dealers. has someone an image they could post to show visually what bit is what? i ask as im new to peugeots in general and im not the most terminology clued person.

help appreciated

andy

Let us know how you get on there chap, I've got the same issue on mine (hopefully on the road in August).

One of the bolts is missing altogether and the handle's loose inside the roof, I've taped over the lot at the moment while its on the drive.
