Recommended Posts

GTI6BOY

Just refurbed rear calipers for someone and they went to fit the brake line back and somehow a couple of threads have bent?

I just went a got a tap and die set from halfords but it dont have the size.

I have put a pitch guide on and it is 1.0 but i dont know the other size, whether its metric or what?

Can anyone confirm the size please

Thanks

Should be M10 x 1mm pitch. Same as the other brake pipe unions.

M10x1 is the size, it is a non-standard thread, you can get a tap for it but it will be expensive, and you will need to go to a proper engineers merchant to get one (and they may well have to order it for you).

a bike shop should have one, its the same size as the droput hanger for the rear dérailleur

Relatively common M10x1, most engineering shops will have on the shelf, but it's not often anyone else will stock one.
