stutto 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Sorry, it is a question day: After you match the splines to the plates, does it matter which plate is fitted to which end of the beam? I couldn't see that it would but Haynes clearly states that they are handed.
Garry 1 Posted March 10, 2008 Wouldn't of thought so, the Arb only links the trailing arms together, so I don't think it really matters.
welshpug 1,657 Posted March 10, 2008 I can't remember the identifying marks on the Plates but the ARB has a different chamfer on one end (haynes says which is which) shouldnt matter as long as it goes back in the same way as it came out as you only remove one to get it out. stutto 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I started dismantling the beam nearly a year ago, it is now on the car. I removed both plates and did not look at Haynes until yesterday. It is 50/50 whether it is 'correct' according to Haynes - I am just wondering if there may be any problems if it is wrong. My plates were far from new condition, apart from one spline being smaller diameter there were no obvious differences between the plates.
