People Who Have Built Their Own Inlet Manifolds

When you've machined up your injector boss' have you just bored out the centre of the boss to clear the o-ring and let the injector stop on the body, or have you counter-bored the boss to have a stop for the o-ring? If you have done the latter, how much if any of the injector is exposed in the runner?

I understand that the second question may not be applicable to all applications, but for my triumph spitfire the injector will be in the runner as there is no provision for it to fire in through the head at the top of the port

The o-rings sit free, there only needs to be the radial crush.

If you're mounting injectors upstream so they can't point at the valve, I'd suggest munting them in the bottom of the tract if possible, so they fire at the roof of the port, which improves mixing at low gas speeds and reduces puddling on the port floor.

Cheers Sandy - from the modelling I've done I should be able to get the injector close enough with the correct angle to be aimed at the valve. Also, this is for my Spitfire which isn't a cross-flow engine so the injectors will clash with the exhaust manifold if mounted under the runner, and that'll be more likely to go up in flames than a 205 with old fuel pipe!!!
