Drivers Side Brake Not Releasing.....

Recommended Posts

M_R_205

So, my front divers side calliper wont release, now, just before christmass i rebuilt both front calipers, new seals and new pistons, and i can easily push the piston back into the housing, so question is if my marster cylinder is buggered, could it be leaving some residual pressure behind???

Cheers in advance

Paul

Have you still got rubber hoses? If you have these can split inside and the rubber acts like a one way valve. A good test is to park on a hill and press the brake, when you release it it will probably stay still for a while and then slowly roll back as the pressure drains from the caliper.

Same thing can happen if the hard brake pipes have been squashed somewhere

I had alot of problems with this when I first had a 205. I changed the calipers, flexis and solid lines and it was still there. Wasn't until I changed the MC it went.
