matt-k 0 Posted March 1, 2008 Ok chaps, ive just been running my engine after re-doing my inlet manifold gaskets because the exhaust was glowing red and the problem now seems to be solved! But i have yet another problem After running the engine for afew minutes it just throws all the hot water out the expantion tank! Can some one tell me where the hose on the right hand side of the expantion tank should link to in the picture below and also what hose should connect to the water outlet on the thermostate housing in the middle of the next picture? I had this blanked of originally. Thank you.
taylorspug 7 Posted March 1, 2008 Where have you got the right hand hose running to now? I usually blank both of those hoses off when i do an MI conversion, they are part of the throttle body heater circuit and arent really needed in our climate, makes the conversion a whole lot tidier aswell. matt-k 0 Posted March 1, 2008 Hi, the hose right hand hose is not connected to anything! I was going to connect it to the the pipe on the thermostate to see if that would work. So i just need to blank off the right hand hose on the expansion tank and the one on the thermo to? Cheers, Matt.
matt-k 0 Posted March 1, 2008 Could you please tell me what the sensor on the back of the Mi16 engine is for too, the one in the middle of the block below the manifold? Cheers.
Ryan 99 Posted March 1, 2008 Could you please tell me what the sensor on the back of the Mi16 engine is for too, the one in the middle of the block below the manifold? Cheers. That's the oil level probe. It doesn't need connecting in the 205.

DrSarty 90 1 Cars Posted March 1, 2008 These two pictures are from my project thread and show the cooling system in the BX16v and my slight simplification of it, which cuts out the TB heater pipes. If you study the BX diagram (from Haynes) you'll be able to get your head round how it should be routed. Bear in mind thought that this system has many air bleeder screws and you ought to follow the instructions to fill the system and purge the air. Your problem will then be sorted. HTH. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted March 1, 2008 Yes you need to connect the right handed pipe to the little pic above the stat cover in your pic, This help get any air out of the system to save it blowing the water out
