I left my 205 in the capiable hands of the mrs while i went away for a week, and low and behold it has broken down. Ive not yet looked at the car, but was just after any ideas as i will spend tommorow checking out the car. well the problem that has happened to her is........unlocks the car with button (toad alarm) gets in car, turns key, engine fires instantly, starts to die, puts foot to the floor but it still dies. ..........then try to start it again, the starter just turns and turns to no avail.. . . . . . . . . . . .leaves car for a while, turns it over for a while, and it starts, rev it up for a while, seems ok. leave it to idol for a while, it stays running for 5 mins. Starts to drive home, engine splutters and dies. starts it up, with foot to the floor wont rev above 1k?? any ideas?

Fuel pump relay :) (tachometryc relay) , but it well could be the ignition amplifier/module - check for spark and fuel when cranking the engine .. and try to replace these parts with some spare known good ones - fuel pump relay , ignition amp. , ignition coil and see if it helps (but one at a time ! otherwise you'll never know what was the problem :D ).. also check the usual ignition components just to be sure -> plugs , leads , dizzy cap , rotor arm .

Regards ! :o

well i looked today, i have spark. but there is no fuel pressure at all at the fuel rail? the fuel pump isnt making any noise at all. i put a multi meter on it and it is around 8v? dont look right to me! i gave the fuel pump a direct 12v feed and it did nothing. im guessing the fuel pump in knackered. but about this relay? i swapped all the relays around, made no difference, which relay is it im looking at, where is it. thanx for the help.

Which year is your car ?

This is the relay you need to find -> black 7 - pin relay on Jetronic cars :

On Ph1 cars it's under the battery inside the black relay box :

On Ph2 cars it's under the dash near the ECU or the steering column :

And on Motronic cars in the engine bay -> green 4 - pin relay (two of them one is injection supply relay and another is fuel pump relay inside the black box , but they are both wired together in same circuit ..) :

Thats not the tachymetyric relay, its the lights on warning buzzer.

The tachymetric relay on later phase 1.5 & phase2 cars is by the ecu above the stowage near the drivers right knee (on RHD 205's). Its the same black relay as in your first picture Damir.

Looking on Autodata the Saxo has double injection relay so it won't have one that fits the 205.

Hi !

Yes i know that it's an light buzzer relay :) the point of that pic was just to (roughly) show position of where it could be on Ph2 Jetronic cars .

(anyway i wasn't sure where is it on Ph2 Jetronic , by the steering column like in the same position as this buzzer relay or near the ECU as i never had Ph2 Jetronic car , but i know that it's somewhere inside the car under the dash ;) )

Regards ! :)
