R1 Carb Inlets

for people who have done this conversion, what inlet manifold did you use? is there any companies that sell off the shelf items, how much are they?

I'd be interested into seeing homemade attempts as well and any info that can be given on dimensions, angles, tapers of the tracts.

thanks

Bogg brothers are the best but also busiest! however Shenpar also supply them for around £210 quid, if i was doing it again id go home made to be honest or even get a local engineering place to make one

With a bit of effort you could make one yourself or as M_R_205 said get a local engineering company to knock one up. They are pretty simple things for the money they cost.

thanks for the replies guys, im thinking i could design one myself using CAD software and then give these designs to a local company for them to make it up as im not sure my fabrication skills are up to it. Just wondered if anyone had any tips on the actual design on the tracts (length, angle etc) or is it a case of just basing it on something thats already made.

Try and avoid any angles or sharp turns, try and have the tracts rough where ever fuel is present, tract lengths around 350mm i think, depending on engine, a bit of taper is advantageous.
