Wandery Steering

Recommended Posts

Rich_p

Before I brought my car it had new bottom arms fitted a while back so we know they are ok, but the steering can sometimes feel a little wandery.

When parking earlier I noticed a donk when turning the wheel, could this be the ball joints or trackrod ends on their way out?

If the wishbones weren't genuine Peugeot ones then the bushes could well have given up, most likely the small front ones. Mine went after two years on pattern-part wishbones, a mate's went after just two months. It's a disgrace. I've now fitted genuine Peugeot bushes (much cheaper than buying the whole wishbone but a lot more aggravation) and the car is transformed.

The noise when turning the steering wheel could well be a seized anti-roll bar drop link.

As above, could also be tracking toe'ing out, ovalled hub or worn track rod end :)
