Do These Koni’s Need Bump Stops Or Covers?

Recommended Posts

I have just bought these from eBay. Only £60 so I am happy.

The question is, do they need bump stops or sleeves to protect the shafts?

Or am I right in thinking that Koni’s are designed to run without them?

If they do, what should I get?

Thanks

Jonny

yes the fronts will need bump stops, and covers will prolong the life of the suspension by protecting the exposed damper rods from the elements and crap.

you need to check if the shocks have internal bumpstops. The bilstein aftermarket ones do so I would ring a koni dealer and ask..

I have spoken to a Koni dealer, they don’t have internal bump stops and recommends that I use OE Peugeot ones, which are only £12 from a main dealer.

I just cut the old covers off my standard rears, straight down the middle, and fitted them on my konis, never fell off and gave decent protection
