Toe Setting For Lowered 205 With 309 Running Gear

Recommended Posts

Stu

Hello all,

Ive got everything swapped over now, 309 wishbones and driveshafts are in, its now sitting on 40mm lowering springs too.

So.. what do you guys set the toe to? It needs tracking up so i figure i might as well use the opportunity to dial in whatever i need.

Parallel's a safe bet. Works for me anyway, nice steering feel/turn in and no noticeable tyre wear bias.

Coolio.. what effect would a little toe-in have? reduced turn in but better stability at speed?

Potentially, but scrub too. There's a traditional rule of thumb that RWD cars need the front to toe in and FWD toe out, to compensate for bush flex; but that's rarely the case with modern suspension, since the pull/push is designed to cancel out or commonly to toe in slightly under braking for better braking stability.
