wardy18 33 1 Cars Posted February 20, 2008 Which thermostat do it need for the 1900 XU9, is it the 82 deg or the 89deg?!
DamirGTI 344 Posted February 20, 2008 Hi ! Me thinks that the 82deg. is a way to go (especially if the engine is modified and if you drive harder ..) but it'll take some time for the heater to start blowing hot air inside the cabin if you live in cold areas and in winter time .. I usually fit 88deg. for winter (when i need good and quick heating..) and 82ged. for the summer ... With the 88deg. thermostat the engine operating temp. (coolant) will be at around 85deg. and with the 82deg thermostat at around 75-80 ... anyway it's up to you which one you'll chose Cheers ! Damir
wardy18 33 1 Cars Posted February 20, 2008 so i assume they are the same size etc?!
DamirGTI 344 Posted February 20, 2008 Yes they are the same fit (just ask one for this type of the car/engine) , chose which deg. rating you wish and you'll be fine (but just to note , lower engine operating temp. around 70-75deg. is better for power then 85-90deg. I've seen a few dyno tests which prove this fact ..) Regards ! Damir
