DrSarty 90 1 Cars Posted February 20, 2008 130 cm=1.3meters, thats a huge door speaker Yep. It's the patented 'Josh's bass in your face door bass bin dustbin lid system'. Only problem is the door hinges sag due to a 50kg magnet on the speaker!!!
Super Josh 4 Posted February 21, 2008 Also makes opening the side windows a little difficult too Josh

Wallby 39 Posted February 27, 2008 Does anybody recommend any 5.25" speakers for a "reasonable" amount of money
DrSarty 90 1 Cars Posted February 27, 2008 Does anybody recommend any 5.25" speakers for a "reasonable" amount of money If you're just driving them off a head unit, then I would say any reputable brand from either {A} an ICE specialist or even {B} Halfrauds. You could buy off eBay, but I strongly recommend doing face to face business locally (in case they don't fit due to magnet size perhaps) with {A} or {B} and looking in their bargain or ex-display bin. If you're just running them off your head unit, I wouldn't bother spending much more than £30 TBH.
stutto 0 Posted March 1, 2008 Please also be aware that if you fit co-axials in the front and the tweeter is raised then the cover may be much more awkward to fit or even not possible to fit without modification.
Coonper 0 Posted March 1, 2008 If your after a real quality sound the best bet is to... 1) Not bother with coaxials, get components! 2) Get them amped with a small 50w rms amp or similar (dependant on speakers) 3) Do away with the rear speakers completely as they throw the sound stage off all together in a small car, and do nothing but bad things to sound quality. 4) If your'e really into quality, make up some door speaker pods to house 165mm components. 5) Dont buy from Halfrauds!!! Check out www.caraudiodirect.com You can get components, amp and wiring kit for around £120 upwards. This will give the ultimate sound quality. The next step is to introduce a bit of bass with a subwoofer.
