Who robbed my timing marks from my gearbox, I cant find them.

hmm, never seen any timing marks, I always use pins to time up the engine.

ang on is this an Mi16? as they never had adjustable distrubutors and hence no marks.

MI block, 1.9 Flywheel, 1.6 Box. Should be marks on the box.

aaaah, nope.

 

those timing marks are on a plate bolted to the block not the gearbox.

That explains that then. I always thought that they were on the box (not paying attention all those times)

 

Dont suppose anyone has a spare plate off the block as I just parted with my last engine.

The timing is exclusively controlled by the ECU, the distributor cap is only there to make sure the spark goes to the right plug.
