TaffyTim 6 Posted February 12, 2008 I started the thread below last time I was putting new pads on and ended up using the 307 pads: http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry748332 Yesterday I went to peugeot for another set of pads, I explained my set up to see if they came up with a different answer to last time. They did. This time they actually found the 206 pads. I asked them to get some of the 307 pads out just so I could see what the difference was. The holding points that will sit in the yolk seems the same shape but there were 2 main diffrences: 1, the pad height* was much shorter on the 206 pads, (* meanning that the pad will cover as much distance from the outside of the disc to the centre of the disc) 2, the compound on the 2 pads seemed quite different This got me thinking about which pad would be best for my use (general road use with 1 trackday a month) as i can see advantages in both pads. The 307 pads have a larger surface area so should help stopping. The 206 pads might have a better compound which will help with high speed breaking and breaking temperatures. Has anyone got any thoughts on this (I shouldn't say things like this) To help matters here are the part numbers: 206 : 425276 307: 425222 Ta Tim ps I went for the 307 pads again as I know they do the job
welshpug 1,657 Posted February 12, 2008 the 180 pads do indeed have a more aggressive pad material
kyepan 291 Posted February 12, 2008 i ended up getting 307hdi pads in brembo ds2500 material. They cover all the disc, and i can't remember if they are the same part number as the gti180 ones.
