Anthony

Given that you've got a sensible reading on the oil pressure gauge, I'd say that either your oil pressure switch is faulty, or the wiring to it is chaffed and earthing out against something (usually the engine block). The oil pressure switch controls all three lights that are on - namely low oil pressure, high coolant temp, and STOP.

Unplug the spade connector from the oil pressure switch (the smaller of the two on the block near the alternator) and see if the light goes out.

Thanx Anthony, I'll try this in first light. As said, I don't think it's anything major as it runs fine and doesn't smoke!!!
