Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted February 8, 2008 Hi chaps, does anyone know if there is a difference in cylinder head chamber volume between a 1.9 and a 1.6 XU engine? If the heads have the same chamber volume, how does the 1.9 achieve its compression ratio, do the pistons sit down the bore, or is there more volume in the piston itself? Just mulling over a few ideas at the moment! Cheers all.
welshpug 1,661 Posted February 8, 2008 its the pistons and rods combo that give the different compression in the D6B and B6D, engines like the gentry (i,e Auto engines) have different head chamber sizes. 1.6 pistons in a 1.9 is a popular combo as it raises the compression ratio. I'm sure someone knows the specifics though.
