Lean Reading On Exhaust Test -loss Of Power

Recommended Posts

damo

I have changed the gasket in the dissy cap, so originally though it was just missing or something. leads etc checked to the plugs, after checking my emissions its running lean on the fuel. It idles fine but drives slugish now, I have double checked the dissy and cant spot anything.

Anyone got any ideas?

So the conclude - Power is down, it kind of misses / shudders when putting the foot down and revs go up slow?? On a emissions test they say its running really lean on the fuel. I have a k&n filter and a magnex backbox, rest is standard. its a 1.9 engine.

Initial thoughts point to the airflow meter. This is the easiest to test. Use the search function to find out how to do this with a multimeter. Next I would move on to the fuel side of things i.e. filter, pump, regulator and injectors.

Sorry to sound a bit vague but it could be a number of things and you must eliminate certain things in order to narrow down the possible causes.

sounds like a misfire due to lack of fuel, rather than just being lean. it could be anything that controls or has an effect on the fuel. my guess would be the hall sensor on the dizzy, maybe.

ok, kind of fixed the issue. It was the dizzy was out a little so the timing was out. also replaced the fuel filter and its fueling 100x better.

My emissions are now up from 0.19 to 2.1 should the co2 be tweaked to 2.5 or 1.5 anyone?

Ideally 1.5, but they seem to run well at around 2.0 as long as its under 3.5 you're fine.

bear in mind that this is only the idle setting.
