McDude 33 Posted February 4, 2008 First up - thanks to all that keep on helping me with useful advice as I rebuild the suspension on my 1.9 Does anyone know the size of the bump stop (aka rebound stop) that sleeves over the piston rod of the front damper? Totally stock suspension. Autofive are out of stock, GSF claim they don't sell them so I have to rely on my local Pug Dealer. He can get them in but can't help with the size. On the database there are 2 parts a 79mm or a 57mm - I can't compare it to the one I took off as it disintegrated and it is a b1tch getting at the one that is fitted on the other side. I know that someone here will have this info because that's just how good you guys are.
RossD 44 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) AFAIK the convertible used the shorter bumpstops for some reason. The Service box website lists the Convertible as having a 79mm bumpstop, the diesel having a 57mm stop and "Injection" models as having 97mm bumpstops. Injection probably means GTi, so read into that what you will! Edited February 4, 2008 by RossD
