sNaKePiT 1 Posted February 8, 2008 I've got the same feeling in My steering, doesn't seem like tracking as I thought it would pull to one side only. Any more ideas??
RossD 44 Posted February 8, 2008 Have you got any more negative camber than usual (309 arms etc)? This in some cases can cause tramlining I have found.
sNaKePiT 1 Posted February 8, 2008 Nope not at all. And the weird thing is that it had been fine till about 2 weeks ago, since then the power steering seems soft and floaty(like it's actually working for once) and then driving about 30-40 it starts to feel stiffer, like it's pulling in random directions. Breaks had been done quite recently, but they are not binding or rubbing to cause a feeling like that!! It's drivable but just annoying.
Guest MattyC Posted February 8, 2008 could the holes in the bottom of the hub carriers where the lower wishbone fits in be warn? i had some which wore quite bad and it drove better when i changed them.
GLPoomobile 958 Posted February 8, 2008 If your wishbone bushes are shot then it can make the steering feel as you've described - vague and floaty. Also would make the car pull in different directions as you come on and off the power, and due to bumps and changes in camber in the road etc.
sNaKePiT 1 Posted February 8, 2008 I have all new wishbone bushes and mounts waiting to go on as soon as My new suspension top mount plates turn up. Then I can put my GAZ struts on at the same time, instead of having to take it apart twice!! Thanx for help on this one.
