applemobile 0 Posted February 2, 2008 I been looking around for a full roll cage that will allow me to still get passengers in the back seats. The prices i been quoted are astronomical, so i want to set upon the task of buildin one my self. Im not after fia aproved, its just for a mix of asthetics, and to keep the girlfriend happy after i rolled my nova and crushed the roof! Does anyone know where i can get hold of some blue prints, of some measurements, that i can base my design on. I have tried to messure up my self, but i still have the interior in, as i need it day to day, and measuring up is not as easy as it sounds.
Jrod 7 Posted February 2, 2008 (edited) A cage is not a good idea. The only time I'd use a cage is with proper bucket seats, harnesses and if it was well padded. (and even then i moan I want to wear a helmet.) Maybe to make her a bit happier drive slower? Edited February 2, 2008 by Jrod

Jrod 7 Posted February 3, 2008 Honestly if the car is going to be used on the road daily I would not fit a cage unless you are wearing harnesses. Don't take her on trackdays if she doesnt like driving fast?
Rippthrough 98 Posted February 5, 2008 Most insurers will not insure you for a roll cage with rear seats still in, as passengers in the back tend to headbutt the cage and split their skulls open in an impact, so be very careful.
willxs 0 Posted February 5, 2008 You might want to have a read through THIS and then make your mind up about whether or not you want a cage in a daily driver.
