Electric Pas - Again Another Question

Recommended Posts

I have searched but seem to get loads of stuff which is unrelated.

My question is can the high pressure pipe for the pas be a flexible high pressure braided type pipe somehow clamped onto threaded ends into the pump and the the rack?

Ok so I know it wont be as good as a solid pipe but trying to get a solid pipe made up for a setup which i dont know where to mount the pump etc is difficult. I would rather have the flexibility of ..... well flexible pipe!

ANyone esles input could be valuable at this stage.

And if anyone has the answer now to the maximum pressure possible from the 106 gti electric power steering pump that would be great.

Cheers...and I await the abuse :D

So long as you know what size the connections either male or female and a rough guide to the length of the pipe you could probably get agricultural engineering firm to knock you up a rubber hydraulic hose which have compression fit connections on the end.

Just be aware of the internal diameter of the hose and how much this will affect pressure from the pump and how much more/less fluid you'll need in the reservoir and make sure you clean it through before installing to get any rubber deris out. Oh yes and some plumbers tape on the threads when you do the install

Does that make sense?
