dani959 0 Posted January 30, 2008 Hi all! I'm using my 1.9 GTI for my daily 1 hour commute. It's been going well so far (about 2000 miles since rebuild) but it developed a heavy misfire when started in the morning! A white puff cloud cam out and then it seemed fine. I checked the water level today and it had lost about 1 liter trough the cap. So my guess it's either a head gasket or a leaking head (it had to be welded because it was corroded on the gasket face... :S ) My problem is, I REALLY need the car for my daily commute, and I don't want to take the head just to check it's fu....ed! Any suggestions? My guess goes for the head and I'll try to get one before she dies on me! Speaking of that, does anyone have a spare 8V head (uncracked) near Luton / Oxford, pleeease? Cheers all!
