matty_gti 20 Posted January 27, 2008 Evening all, sorry to post another 'non-starter' but here goes... Ive had my 1.9 TT for a few months now and was running well when i used it for about 2 weeks after buying it, I then wanted to just use it for weekends. I didnt start it for about 2 weeks and when i wanted to drive it it just wouldnt start even with spark and fuel as it was getting to the rail. I then decided to fit a new ign amp, leads, cap, arm, plugs and replace the coil for a know good one, i allso cleaned up the wiring that goes to the coil as it looked a little damaged, after this it then started rite away. but..... I then drove it for a week and the left it for 3 weeks and low and behold it just wont start again. It does spark and smells of fuel after about 20secs of cranking. Edp came up to have a look and we're both stumped Any comments and or suggestions would be a great help. Matt

cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted January 27, 2008 leaking injectors causing the engine to be flooded with fuel? try cranking it a bit with the fuelpump disconnected and then reconnect it and try again. p.s. you may have to take your spark plugs out and clean them up first. Simes 248 2 Cars Posted January 28, 2008 I've had similar experiences recently, it wouldn't fire at all. I was very stumped, had fuel and a spark. Removed plugs and they were very dark due to flooding. Finally started after blowing out the cylinders and fitting new plugs but it still took ages to catch. My coil has started to break down, noticable under load so I suspect that was the problem.

Ill try cleaning the plugs and then check the injectors and take it from there. Keep the sugestions coming. Thanks.
