Extra Air Flow/cooling In The Engine Bay

Recommended Posts

screwloose

I'm after some extra cooling/air flow into the engine bay and the carbs on my MI16 track car. I've seen the bonnet angled up at the rear with the rubber strip closest the windscreen removed.

I've also seen a series of holes drilled into the bumper and am keen to do this myself. Does anyone know how best to do it, what I'll need etc? Is there a guide anywhere on how to do it?

thanks, Jonny

in addition to those ideas, lower the radiator to have clear space behing the grille - it should also help with airflow .

For drilling big holes in the bumper you would ideally want a hole saw/tank cutter, like this

As has been said, drop the rad and make sure the air is ducted to the carbs and shielded from the hot engine bay air. Bonnets can be vented too

ducting realy can help a lot. if you make up ducts out of fiberglass or somthing it can very efictive. on my the loads of people put alloy rads but mines is standerd with ducting and sees lower temps and at intercooler to. and best of all its cheep cheep.
