hodgy 0 Posted January 23, 2008 (edited) ive just taken my de cals off my cars as i was gonna re spray it black.now i have to re spray it as the stickers have pulled the paint off down to the undercoat(in places) from where it was sprayed a couple years ago. the pic ive taken are too big to up load onto the site so i cant show anyone but i cant beleive ive got huge patches of paint missing off my car.both rear 1/4s are down to base paint and near the boot down to under coat, doors are fine for some reason and front wings have no laquer left. my car looks like a poo bag, im a lil gutted but on the up side its less sanding to do next month when it goes to be painted Edited January 23, 2008 by hodgy
Paintguy 0 Posted January 23, 2008 Ooops! Sounds like it either wasn't sanded properly before it's last paint job, or the stickers were applied a bit too soon. It's a good job you're planning to have it painted really
hodgy 0 Posted January 23, 2008 my friend says it wasnt painted right.when i bought it,it had been painted 1 month before i got it. i can see why too as ive started sanding stuff down found loads of filler near the rear arches so it was re sprayed cos he bodged the rust. when i can make pics smaller ill start a project page as its only gonna take 2month to sort out as im only waiting for my mate to get his garage then i can start the proper work. would you grind the nipples off that hold the trims off then fill over them or would you cut them and sand them?
