S16 Brake Calipers

im new to pugs,so ignore this if it sounds stupid,just brought a pug 205 to use as a track car,when i got the car i was told it has s16 brakes on the front,ive had alook and there girling ones which are on the 1.9s,but do 306s use girling as ive been looking round for some race pads(carbon lorraine)and can only find pads to fit bosch or lucas for the 306s and no mention of girling???????????????? :unsure:

Yes, theS16 ones are very similar Girling calipers, but the main difference is the disc size, 266mm opposed to the 247mm std.

my calipers have girling stamped on them,so r they 1.9 or 306?

Lucas = Girling

 

Measure the disk size - 247mm for 205 brakes, and 266mm for 306 S16 brakes.

 

(PS. Is it a white GTi that you bought from Kettering and you recently had lowered?)

oh i see cheers for that f**king brilliant now,just trying to get some decent pads for it just wanna make sure i get the right ones

 

so if there 306 calipers dose any 306 pad fit in them??

Your best bet it probably to remove the pads and take them to your local motor factors to make sure you get the correct ones.
