Middle Crankshaft Bearing Car/linears?

Hi all,

 

Anybody got a known trick for removing main middle bearing cap on 1.6gti engine, managed to get mine to wobble loose but its certainly stubborn and doesn't want to come off, built lots of engines and not has it before, guess its stuck on stud, considering using stud remover.

Also another quick question, can you reseat an old liner once it has been taken out or is it frowned on.

Have you undone the cross bolts through the side of the block?

 

You need new liner seals to re seat a liner (big o'rings)

i sat one nite for about 2 hours till i found the crossbolts lol

Ahh forgot about cross bolts, cheers, do liner seals come in bottom end gasket set?

It depends i think who you get them off, i bought a set and it had no liner seals included although iirc, the payen gaskets set i got for my engine came with liner seals. Best just to ask or check first, although they should come as standard.
