Ben_M 1 Posted January 19, 2008 Hi, I'm getting knocking noises from my front suspention, I'm going to be changing both front drop links soon and was thinking of changing both front legs aswell. I belive that the drivers side leg is gone as there is a lot of knocking from that side however both of the legs are dry. What I was wondering was should I replace the front shock legs with peugeot standard ones or the aftermarket unipart type. As i know alot of people believe that genuine peugeot parts are the best for the 205. I dont know if this has any bearing on the answer but I do intend on doing trackdays in the car aswell as using it for my daily driver, which why I wont fit the koni bone shackers again any advice ? danpug 1 Posted January 19, 2008 You can get bilstein direct replacements for sensible money, thats what i would go for. Get some quality springs, such as eibachs and you should have a nice ride with good performance on track.
Ben_M 1 Posted January 19, 2008 The car did have koni shock all round and eibach springs on the front, which was great for the track, but scary on the back roads. I changed the shocks back to the standard peugeot ones and the car is so much better on the road. What I am really asking is are the unipart shocks as good as the peugeot ones? Thanks Ben
McPikie 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Dude, seriously BALL JOINTS!!!
Ben_M 1 Posted January 19, 2008 The ball joint are less than six months old . The knocking is coming from the drop links or the shock leg its self . All I want to know is what is the best type of standard shock to put on the car a genuine peugeot one or (QH) / unipart type ?
