Drivers Side Front Pannel Replacement... Any Version Peugeot?

Recommended Posts

smokey

Hiya guys

I've just put down the deposit for my new and 1st CTI car.

There's lots which needs doing to it, but one thing is the front driver side panel has a hole in it the size of my fist. So i need to replace it.

I was wondering does it have to be a GTI/CTI panel or can it be any type or 205?

My thinking is it needs to be a CTI or GTI

Thanks

do you mean item 2 ?

pretty sure its the same part across the range . not to expensive from the main dealer either. 62.51 for all 3 parts which i'm pretty sure are pre assembled

hope this helps.

otherwise take your grinder to scrappy.

do you mean the headlight panel, mine had a small hole in it aswell so i just cut it out and welded a plate in,to replace the panel would have ment taking the wing off and i thought fukc that as i would have probly knackerd the wing taking it off as the bonding is very strong what holds it on(as well as some bolts)

That is the front wing buddy, yes you will want the specific 205 GTI wing.

Ok cool

So a CTI or GTI wing will do.

I take it its just a simple unbolt and bolt back on?

Not quite as easy as that, the standard Peugeot sealer is very tough and requires cutting with a sharp knife. Then the new wing will require trial fitting, adjusting, then paint. Then bolt it on, line it up with the bonnet and door, then finally seal under the wheelarch again. Oh and the bumper needs to come off to get it off, so budget for a new set of bumper mounts too.

if i was you i would get some one to cut the rot out and plate it up because if thats a original wing and thats all thats wrong with it you dont wanna be putting a cheap copy wing on coz ther s*ite, always try to keep original parts,if that was mine and i had a choise of a small plate on the bottom of a original wing or a cheapy paturn part wing id go for the plate everytime,+ your also not disturbing the original sealer.if you get some one who knows ther job that repair will last longer than the cheap wing

you could cut that section only from the wing and weld a corresponding piece in from a sound panel. welding could be done where it,s hidden by the arch trim - save disturbing most of the factory sealant
