and some others that I can't remember at the mo. May be some other new cars this year too.

Be racing in DMN in the Leon. You should do it too.

 

Sounds good, be interesting to see how the 306 does, especially against the Vtecs!

Just remembered there's a 1.8vvti (i think) civic in my class too.

Will see how the first few races go and I may be tempted to enter some other 'guest races' at combe against some different machienary.

 

 

Got up at 5am Tuesday morning and took the 306 to Maniflow to get the exhuast made up.

Picked it up on Sat morning, tis a work of spaghetti art under there!

They managed to get it round the gear linkages and various other obstacles as well as get the dimensions I needed to match the cams.

couldn't get much closer to the steering column if he tried! :(

 

are you planning on having any form of heat control in there? wrap/coating etc.

I think I’ll probably be wrapping most of it, keep the bay heat down as low as poss.

The exit size is 2.5”.

Price wise, it wasn’t exactly cheap as such. But not bad for the work that has gone in to it and should benefit on power being made specifically made to match the JRE cams. - £580 :(

Forgot to add, I fitted the new brakes yesterday and ran the braided lines throughout the car. Just need fluid adding and bleeding now.

Are you going to slot the rotors before you use them? Six slots with a 3mm ball nose cutter works nicely.

i thought the groves help remove the gases ;)

 

holes only weaken, if they are drilled after been cast

 

if the holes are done while casting, they will be fine :blush:

i do not know how do they do it on supertouring cars, but i'd imagine their drilled discs will be

top spec, yet all the ones i've seen have developed little cracks. they do look good though B).

Grooves aren't as good for venting gases as holes, they deglaze the pads though

 

Holes are pretty s*it for hardcore whether cast or drilled, but cast are much better than drilled yes.

Picked up some more bits on Friday to finish the brake lines (will get some pics of it all at the weekend), connectors for fuel lines and other farty little bits and pieces.

Oh and a new battery :)

Bought a Dremel last week which made much lighter work of finishing the boot pins and cut as much of the inner boot skin out as I could.

Then moved on to the bonnet pins. Well chuffed with the end result of them, they look ace...

Then went nuts with the dremel and started cutting out all the passenger door internals and metal.

Didn't get time to finish that though, will do that when it's back from Cornwall.

Then took the car back down to Colins on Sunday, so the engine can be finished and put in. I'll be going down to help on Fri/Sat so more updates then I expect.

Ordered the stack guages today too which should turn up tomorrow ;)

I hope you'll have other panels inside the doors otherwise you risk getting a major cut in your arm.

are you going to cut whole doors out with just a dremel! upgrade to a mini anglegrinder. Much faster and creates far bigger sparks!

 

As for finishing the doors - is it possible to roll a lip once everything is cut?
