boldy205 75 Posted January 13, 2008 Does anyone have one fitted? I feel it is a improvement on the Std setup, though a little too hard maybe? It has Std 40mm drop and aprox the same on the rear running a 309 beam with GRP A front beam mounts and GRP N Rear beam mounts.. The Car also has 309 wishbones with hard polybushs. While the car has a nice amount of feed back and i can feel what the cars doing, i feel there is more front end grip to be had. Could this be due to the front springs being too hard? I feel the rear has a lot more grip and is less likely to break out (though obviously it will when asked) since fitting the 309 beam. Is this the problem? I realise some people prefer the 205 beam, but is the answer not to go back to a 205 beam but to make the front end more grippy? Will softer springs help this?? I can see this getting messy, and expensive!! I would just like to know from people in the know and from actual experiance from people. Thanks for reading Matt. mogsman 2 Posted January 14, 2008 I have had the psx on my 205 for a couple of years now. The springs they have with the kit are to harsh, there is hardly any give in the suspension. I'm still thinking of fitting some softer springs just to make a more comfortable ride. Ian

Thanks for reading Matt. by fitting hard springs on the front you make the car want to understeer more. thats why the back end seems tamer, same with the widened rear track. With the reduced roll your tyres are probably staying flatter when cornering which will give you more natural grip.
boldy205 75 Posted January 15, 2008 Softer springs then? How can i tell how hard they are? And what is the 'hardness' measured in, Lbs isnt it? Thanks Matt
dave_gti 0 Posted January 15, 2008 mine feels exactly the same, feels as if the dampers just arent doing much, and there is a huge loss on grip
