joe1joe 3 Posted January 13, 2008 (edited) what is your opinion of the 205 dimmas hanldling characteristics as they are around 70mm ish wider on the back than the front, obivously comparing it to a 205 with the same spec suspension setup etc, as im thinkin of using mine for track days but i am a bit unsure what it would handle like being alot wider. (only makinging it wider with the wheels) If i was to use mine i was thinking of using a set of 17" wheels with a 15mm-20mm wheel spacer on the front and longer stubaxles and and spacer, on the rear(40-50mm), would rather have 15" wheels but have a set of 17" superlight wheels with bf goodrich pilot tyres doing nothing, this would then put less load on the wheel bearings and could run lighter wheels than the dimma ones?? and it would also be 7" inch wide wheels all round aposed to the 7" front and 8" rear found on the dimmas, which would mean less unsprung weight, and also makes tyres expensive for the dimma wheels, and they seem a bit big for a lighweight 205,or just rip the kit off!!!!!! joe1joe 3 Posted January 14, 2008 thats realy bad for a 205, the kit has hidden every thing! my car is a solid example of a 205 with no rust and the kit has only been on it for 1-2 years as it not genuine kit, so i no there no rust hideing under the kit,and is the same width as a dimma. and since putting a 1.6 16v in there i realy want to use it for track days! GTI6BOY 29 Posted January 14, 2008 I got a dimma with a 309 rear beam so its even wider, and the handling is unreal. and also makes tyres expensive for the dimma wheels Dimma wheels came with 205/45/16 all round as standard I just purchased 4 x eagle f1s for £280 delivered Thats not expensive imo
