Which Washer Pump To Buy?

Recommended Posts

dan9

My washer pump died from old age, so I need a new one. I'll pop to my local factors in the week for a replacement.

Before I order, can anyone recommend a better/more powerful pump that will still fit the 205 washer bottle? I think when I searched for washer pump info I saw someone upgraded to a 406 pump (?) for turbo-charged windscreen washing!

Thanks to anyone who can advise...

i bought a standard 205 washer pump and a pair of twin washer jets from gsf for a 106 or 306. great mod as you get double the water on the screen.

bit of a tip though, make sure the washer bottle is cleaned out as the block up more easier than the standard jets.

^^^Sod that.

What you need is 2 pumps(1 standard plus an extra), and standard jets. Loads of pressure and better cleaning.

As far as a 'turbo' article is concerned, are we talking about my article from the PSOOC Club?

I believ he is referring to a comment that Henry Yorke made (IIRC) about the 406 pump being "turbo powered" compared to the 205 pump.

Saveloy, did you say before that you got your in line pump from Halfords? Is it just a universal pump, and how much was it?

Yep, it was a universal pump from Halfords. It was less than a tenner IIRC.

You could go for a remote pump set-up, of say a Transit, wouldn't be to hard to engineer Im sure. :(
