What Diameter Is The Metal Water Pipe On The 205 Gti?

as above^^^^^^^^^ what diameter is the water pipe that runs on the drivers side down by the crank pulley? its the one that always rusts and is prone to splitting and leaving you without water..

 

 

my intention is to buy a piece of copper pipe tommorow and make up my own piece, that way it never rusts again.

they rust from the inside out, good idea but maybe ull find your copper one will become brittle and snap. :)

the reason i want to use copper is because its amazing with sustained heat.

 

 

take a look at your central heating pipes, they are all made of copper.

 

 

i want to buy a genuine pipe from pug but its false ecconomy as the same thing will happen again down the line.

its the antifreeze that makes them brittle.

Change the water as recomended and they will last another 10 yr's, And give the outside a coat of paint, Saves having to make a couple of hangers for the pipe

I used the plastic pipe from a TU engine instead of the metal pipe+the two plastic fixings.

It fits like a glove (almost)

I chopped up the pipe from a Vac Cleaner
