Guest petrie82 Posted January 13, 2008 Hello Im currently fitting my new bilstein shocks as we speak. As i was dismanteling the old strut i knackered the bump stop in the process. I was just wondering if you actually need it? Cheers
ginjaspeed 0 Posted January 13, 2008 It's advisable to keep the bump stops, as this stops the damper from undergoing adverse load when the suspention goes to full compression. Without them you could damage the dampers!
Sandy 191 Posted January 13, 2008 If you're fitting "Streetline" ones yes, but Sprintline and Challenge dampers have internal bump stops. The original ones don't fit the inverted damper arrangement.
