welshpug 1,666 Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) 1905cc gti engine never had 130 bhp, it was 128 bhp. unless is was a late engine on Motronic (i.e with a cat) or from an Auto it'll be the 128 BHP version. Edited January 12, 2008 by welshpug

welshpug 1,666 Posted January 12, 2008 no, IIRC there are 2 128 bhp engines, not much difference between them though, then there's the 122bhp engine and the 105 bhp engine. most 1.9's are the D6B engine IIRC. and that's before looking at the 1.9 in any other PSA car! Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted January 12, 2008 I thought they were xu9j, xu9ja and xu9jaz ? Xu9j4 is the mi16 isnt it?
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted January 12, 2008 As said there's loads of differance's and you never know if it wasn't changed in the past, But on the top of the engine there should be a TAG with the code on, ie. D6B, The XU9 bit is another code not used on the engine if it doesn't have this you should see the date stamp on the head (Back of) this if older than late 92 should be the 128bhp engine provding it has the Short sump fitted
