What Oil To Use In An Air Compressor

Recommended Posts

Elad

hi,

I have a small air compressor (35L 3.5 HP) for my pneumatic tools,

I want to change the oil,

what oil should I use?

I heard that 20/50 motor oil is O.K.

what do you think?

best regards,

Elad.

is this for the compressor itself ot the air tools? you can buy air tool specific oil, its quite thin and similar to 3in1 oil.

a Google might find what the manufacturer recommends but most run the same stuff (what exactly I'm unsure)

It should be stamped on a plate, but usually they use straight SEA 30 mineral oil.

I use old engine oil 10-20W and have done for the last 10 years and it still runs OK. But I only use it for spraying.
