hengti 2 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) pretty sure i've had two different nut sizes on mine - 34 and 35mm. have you got a set of measuring calipers? ed. for clarity Edited January 10, 2008 by hengti
M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted January 10, 2008 36mm is the size i use for it....
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted January 10, 2008 35-36mm.
hengti 2 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) might have been 35/36 then; there are different sized nuts though ed. double post Edited January 10, 2008 by hengti
Ryan 99 Posted January 10, 2008 OEM driveshafts are 35mm. Most replacements use 32 or 36, as 35 is a bit of an unusual size.
jackherer 543 Posted January 10, 2008 a 36mm socket works fine on a 35mm nut.
SamGTi 0 Posted January 10, 2008 Mine are 36mm and I was advised I would need a deep socket to get over the nut (but come to think of it now it really isn't that deep!)
Guest c2swb Posted January 11, 2008 cheers guys, been to halfords, they had every socket size apart from 36mm, typical.
maturin23 10 Posted January 11, 2008 I strongly advise getting hold of a decent length of scaffold pole to help with getting the nut off. I was getting some serious bend in my 2 foot breaker bar and it still wouldn't shift. Slipping a 6 foot length of pole over the bar solved the problem. v6Max 0 Posted January 11, 2008 35mm for the OEM ones or 36mm for GKN etc. Halfords should have a 36mm in stock but it'll be an impact socket most likely so not hanging up with all the other shiny chrome ones. 35mm can be brought from Draper's on-line store or ordered in store from Halfords. Guest c2swb Posted January 12, 2008 correctomondo, the bigger size sockets at halfords were the black impact type, apart from a space where the 36 mm should of been, no desperate rush to do it i'll wait til they get some more in and when the weather gets better, that'll be april then...
