Any Pug Mechanics Here? Urgent!

I went to change the ignition barrel in my Partner van (V reg, DW engine) today. It wouldn't start as the new key wasn't programmed to the vehicle so I put the old barrel back in for now. Only it still won't start, like the key isn't programmed anymore! :)

Is there anything I can do at home to get it working again? Reset something? Or am I going to have to get a main dealer to sort it? Do they need the whole van to program the new key or do they just need the key and the sensor around the barrel?

Really hope someone can help me out here as the van is my work vehicle and its in front of my garage so I can't get my car out!

if i remember correctly once you have turned the ignition on with the new barrel you have to programme it as it puts a transponder fault in the ecu's

and cannot use old barrel as fault is still present

and they will need the van to do this as it programmed to the ecu's

I cant remember what arrangement of stop solenoids the DW engine has, but usually 2 solenoids, one normal stop which IIRC doesnt normally have a tamperproof cover, the second one will be the one coded to the key etc, remove this and take out the innards (i.e disabling it) then refit the carcase.

I'd check with the dealer how much it'd be to sort it out before going down this route.

it might not be that pricey

when i worked at citroen 2 years ago it was around 50 to code keys is only a 5 min job you might find that other garages may be able to do it too with a snap on solas machine or similar

Well, I got into the van to push it out of the way this morning, but it fired up fine! So I'm guessing the fault must have reset overnight as it has been ok all day. Still need to get the new key programmed, think I may have found a garage other than Pug to do it so I'll give them a call
