Engine Improvments?

Hi im looking to improve my engine on my 205. What should have i have done? There is nothing wrong with my engine, i just want to get it running sweet.

I no a few things i need to do.

But has anyone got some good starters???

It would help if you could define the difference between nothing wrong with your engine an having it run sweet. If it aint broke, don't fix it. If you want performance upgrade thats another story.

 

Like I say, it depends what you mean by running sweet? You could start by cleaning out all the breathers, then replacing ignition components if they need doing such as your leads, plugs, rotor arm and dizzy cap. Could also clean up things like the SAD and retrack the AFM, however, that's relativly pointless unless there's a problem that needs addressing like a high idle or fueling problems

^^^advice doesn't come much better than that^^^

 

so if its running well dont really mess with it

 

but replacing things that you wouldn't relate to power upgrades are a big help

 

e.g. bbm engine mounts and gear rods from Miles

 

they help gear changes and engine movement making the driving experience feel much better

I've got one of the BBM mounts on my GTi6 converted 205. After its first test drive the first thing I had to do was blutac down some of the trim that was rattling. :) (its amazing what you can fix with blutac)

Out of interest, where do you get the repair kits to retrack the AFM?
