gti-si 0 Posted January 6, 2008 It would help if you could define the difference between nothing wrong with your engine an having it run sweet. If it aint broke, don't fix it. If you want performance upgrade thats another story. Like I say, it depends what you mean by running sweet? You could start by cleaning out all the breathers, then replacing ignition components if they need doing such as your leads, plugs, rotor arm and dizzy cap. Could also clean up things like the SAD and retrack the AFM, however, that's relativly pointless unless there's a problem that needs addressing like a high idle or fueling problems
Peetypug 5 Posted January 6, 2008 ^^^advice doesn't come much better than that^^^ so if its running well dont really mess with it but replacing things that you wouldn't relate to power upgrades are a big help e.g. bbm engine mounts and gear rods from Miles they help gear changes and engine movement making the driving experience feel much better
CaptainK 11 Posted January 7, 2008 e.g. bbm engine mounts and gear rods from Miles I've got one of the BBM mounts on my GTi6 converted 205. After its first test drive the first thing I had to do was blutac down some of the trim that was rattling. (its amazing what you can fix with blutac)
iety2004 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Out of interest, where do you get the repair kits to retrack the AFM? cheers Gareth
