Interior Heater Removal Questions

Recommended Posts

chrisj21

Hi, all,im building my track 205 from scratch and want to remove the intrior heater to save weight. just wondering if anyone can tell me what i need to remove.

i take it the heater uses water from the engine.so which pipes would i need to remove/keep and what holes need blocking?

ive not looked at the car yet just trying to get a heads up.

thanks

As far as I remember, one pipe to the heater matrix is from the little distribution block on the back of the engine, the other comes from the header tank itself. Just blank them off.

Its something I'm thinking of doing, but installing an electric heater for those cold mornings.

As Alan's said 2 pipes to block off and the intake vent to stop the water getting inside the car, I've run Race with no heater's, Heated screens but you just need to make sure you get in dry and have no leaks in the car

what would you advise blocking the holes up with?

was thinking of getting two demist fans from car builder solutions and some how instaling them to help with condensation and these are also ok for the mot i believe.

thanks for the replys
