Pretty easy really. First job is to remove the handle by prising out the 2 small covers in it, and undoing the screws hidden behind them.

Then take off the plastic trims that cover the side runners (slide them towards the back of the car), and you'll see 2 small 'plates' at the back of the runners (near the top of the tailgate). Remove the torx bolts holding these in place, and the glass will just slide out. It's a hefty thing so having a mate to hand might be a good idea, and watch out for the plastic sliders that should come out with the glass.

As per the Haynes joke book - refitting is the reverse of removal  but grease everything up first

cheers mate, i thought it was the plastic trims,im wanting to strip the car down for paint and taking the trims off and the glass out is a lot easier than taking the complete sunroof out.its a long time since iv stripped a 205 down as i only really paint nowadays, the panel beaters strip most stuff off for us now, weve even got preppers though id rather prep for myself anyday

Ahh.. So you're a lazy ass painter that just spends all day keeping warm in the booth :wub:

Just kidding mate, and I know how you feel about doing your own prep work. I've recently changed jobs though, and I've gone from spending 90% of my time painting, to something a bit more varied. There are 4 of us in the place, and we rotate between who's painting, and who's doing the prep and finishing work.

It adds a bit of variety to my day, but I always get nominated for painting when we get busy. The others can manage to paint 6 or 8 in a day, whereas I can easily crack out over a dozen. Got to love push-through booths :(

I'm well known on here for taking posts well off topic, but I just wondered what sort of work you do, if you don't mind me asking. Is it a crash repair shop? Dealership? Something else?

Andy.
